Mileage Homie — Privacy Policy

Mileage Homie does not collect your data. The app is an on-device IRS mileage tracker. Your information stays on your iPhone and is never sent to us or any third party.
On your device by default
	•	Your locations, photos, odometer readings, notes, and trips are stored only on your device.
	•	iCloud sync is off — nothing is uploaded to any cloud.
	•	No ads, no tracking, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs.
The only ways data leaves your device
Data leaves your phone only when you deliberately choose one of these actions:
	•	A PDF mileage log you generate and share.
	•	A QuickBooks CSV/JSON file you generate and share (business mileage figures only — no GPS coordinates, no photos).
	•	A QuickBooks Online connection you set up and use (see below).
	•	A support email you compose and send from your own mail app. Its contents are diagnostics only (app version, iOS version, device model) — never your trips, locations, or photos.
Each of these is a deliberate action you take. Nothing is sent automatically or in the background.
QuickBooks Online connection (optional)
You can optionally connect Mileage Homie to your own QuickBooks Online company to send your mileage deduction there as expense entries. If you use this feature:
	•	You sign in on Intuit's own page (OAuth 2.0). Mileage Homie never sees your Intuit password.
	•	Before anything is sent, the app shows you exactly what will be sent, and nothing leaves the device until you tap Send.
	•	What is sent: your summarized business mileage figures — dates, miles, the IRS rate, and dollar amounts, posted as expense entries to the QuickBooks company you choose. Never your GPS coordinates, routes, photos, odometer readings, or personal/commute trips.
	•	Data goes directly from your iPhone to Intuit's QuickBooks Online service over HTTPS. It does not pass through us — we operate no servers.
	•	The connection tokens are stored only in your iPhone's Keychain. You can disconnect at any time in the app, which deletes them.
	•	Data you send to QuickBooks is then governed by Intuit's privacy statement.
Location
Location is used only after you explicitly start tracking a trip, to measure the distance you drive. It is processed on your device and is not collected by us. Map lookups (directions and place search) are handled by Apple's MapKit.
